A constant challenge – not only for quality assurance – is the ongoing renewal of various certificates. Due to our activities in railway technology and shipbuilding, we have abundant contact with various inspection and certification bodies – along with the need to run again after 3 or 5 years, the relevant tests / Audits.
This year the recertification by DNV / GL was planned. To follow the merger of Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and Germanischer Lloyd (GL) in 2013 we now have to deal with DNV GL, which is one of the biggest international classification societies and an expert in the areas of technical consultancy, engineering services, certification and risk management. DNV GL is the largest ship classification society in the world. The portfolio comprises 13,175 ships and MOUs (Mobile Offshore Units) with a tonnage totaling 265.4 million GT, equivalent to a market share of 21 percent.
After an intensive test routine audit was completed successfully, so that we have acquired with effect from 1 July 2016 another 3 years the „manufacturer’s approval for iron castings. Best thanks go to all colleagues who supported the successful recertification.
