Even a carefully covered roof tends to release moisture into the rooms below after a few decades. So now the time had come to replace the hall roof over a moulding plant and at the same time improve the energy efficiency of the entire production complex. Whereas in the past, the gates were kept open to allow fresh air to enter and to reduce the hall temperatures, the encapsulation of the facilities, various extraction systems and the more conscious use of (thermal) energy have resulted in an unpleasantly fresh atmosphere now and then, even in an iron foundry. The roof construction was therefore adapted and the hall roof renovated during the summer shutdown.
