Sample material
Safety through sample material
Even the most experienced developers need sample material from the original material, because when it comes to material changes and/or new products made from materials that have not been used before, only field testing can ultimately provide the necessary certainty. University institutes, inspection and certification companies also need material for testing and machining trials in small quantities to determine, among other things, machinability, wear behaviour, endurance or operational stability. But where to get it without stealing it? A customer foundry is not a steelworks that produces the same “sauce” for days or weeks on end… personal initiative is required. That is why we cast.

Simple geometric bodies
Customer demand for cylinders, disc-shaped gear blanks, cuboids or similar geometries has resulted in us having an extensive stock of geometrically simple basic models, from which we cast all the materials we produce – even in small quantities – according to customer requirements. However, we only do this if we are certain that the corresponding qualities are not available as continuous castings, which is usually the case with ausferritic cast iron (ADI), SiMo-alloyed ductile cast iron, Duktil Plus or the various Ni-Resist qualities.
And even with the most common ductile iron grade, EN-GJS-400-15, there is a recurring demand for unusual (larger) dimensions.
Customised material samples
This product – customised material samples – rounds off our complete range of services. From material consulting and the casting-friendly design of new components to model and core box construction and the actual casting process, to mechanical processing, comprehensive quality assurance, customer- and application-specific surface treatment and seaworthy, shock-resistant overseas packaging for tropical regions, Brechmann-Guss offers customer service at its finest.
